Birthday Reflection

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday, happy birthday .... happy birthday to you ! The little girl looked at her birthday cake with a big smile on her face, then blew out all the candles ... everyone in the room clapped and in unison greeted her with an energetic happy birthday! Well that little girl will be 45 years old on Saturday. There will be no cakes or birthday songs ... just quiet time with herself. She planned to evaluate her life and reflect on things she encountered in her life's journey. What will she do with the remaining days in her journey? At 45 what else is in store for her? In the Philippines 45 is like old, people will start calling you manang (a term for an old female) or mommy even if you're not even one. She does not have any birthday wish, one thing she learned is not to expect anything. If you don't have expectations you'll not have disappointments. Live one day at a time and live simply .... the less you have the more freedom one will have.

Well enough said for now ... oh by the way .... Happy Birthday to me :D

Yes true.... but you can always choose what to do.... There is always a choice presented to us.... One only needs to decide on which one?

The negativity we experience is not actually cause by outside forces.....people or situations we encounter but it actually comes from within us.... Yes ....were the ones hurting ourselves..... We create our own pain.... sufferings in life.... insecurities..... Because we allow them to enter into our minds and hearts ...... carrying them on our shoulder for years..... Causing bitterness...... How then are we to be set free? ...... Letting Go..... Is the key. One must need to learn to let go to be free..... To let go is to find strength ......To let go is to be transformed.

I miss my mom she passed away 5 years ago. I wished she could have stayed longer but life is like that ... so fleeting. I am still here and life must go on ..... miss you mama.

LONELINESS

This was the first Buddhist video that I've watched. The message/wisdom given by Ajahn Brahm opened my mind and introduced me to the wisdom of Buddha. It helped me deal with the mental and emotional anguish that I was experiencing that time. Loneliness if not dealt with properly cause a lot of pain and suffering,I was in such a state two years ago. After much self processing, purging I was able to let go of my fear of being alone in life and see it in a new perspective ... My happiness should not be dependent on people and things. Happiness is found in the simple things in life and is just within our grasp everyday if one is mindful of its presence.
